I also use Roboform on my PC, but it looks like they have gone to a subscription only system - for PC's as well as iPads. I'm planning to stay with Roboform for the PC (but not update to the subscription version), and use something else for the iPad (still haven't decided what).

Why not? The USA for example has only 4 million miles of roads. A car with driver + passenger + some decent equipment should be able to map say 10 miles per hour, at a cost of $50 per hour. 200 cars for a year, that's 20 million dollars. And then you have a database that you can sell, and that you can use everywhere. Then write an iPhone app that lets users make corrections, lets businesses add their locations etc. and you are ready.
As a driver in North America, rather than just the US, let's make that an extra million miles to include Canada and Mexico. Canada seems well served by most map services but Mexico is not. Most map services seem to leave out gas stations in Mexico, a rather basic need.

sorry but it deserves everyone of those mentions a great application. A great app that really lets you control your trackpad. A must have if you have an ibook or powerbook.
MenuMeters Also another great app to tell you if your computer is actually working.

Perhpas it is cool, but it "crashed" my touch pad. I zapped PRAM, repaired permissions and deleted the Sidetrack program and I still coouldn't get the touch pad to work again. Finally, I reinstalled Panther and it works......

iDisk works fine for me and has better integration than Dropbox.
How is iDisk better integrated than DropBox? I have DropBox running on my desktop where it looks like any other folder. I can open that folder and drag things to and from it. I have DropBox running on my iPad and iPhone too, and all three devices sync automatically. I use 1Password on all three devices and my data file resides on DropBox, so 1Password syncs to all devices automatically. And, there's a web interface for DropBox, so I can get to it from any computer. So what's better on iDisk?

A WHAT? .exe "scripts" are Windows executable programs, not available for use on the Macintosh operating system (and also have nothing to do with web design and development)
Maybe you can be more clear in what you are looking for also  What do you mean "chance to [your] own wishes"?

Er, not necessarily. Age of consent laws vary widely... in most jurisdictions, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old can pretty much do whatever they want.
very true will even be legal with some 16 year olds

Good, bad, right or wrong, Apple is not going to release any new hardware until it rolls out its "cloud." And after it flips the switch on the cloud, there will be a month or two or three of integrating the cloud into existing hardware before they roll out anything new.
No iPhone until late fall at earliest. Probably not until next year.

Hey,
Has anyone heard of a mac version of PTE, I used to have a windows computer and would use PTE everyday to download Power tabs from ultimate-guitar.com however recently our family got a mac and I can't get it to work. Is there any alternative besides VMware to run this? I have had to get my tabs from music downloads (http://http://www.emusic.com/).

I'm hoping mymemory's post is tongue in cheek, as edesignuk has been, to date, exemplary in his duties, without losing that sense of humour we all know and expect.
The mods here have done a great job in making MacRumors the most friendly and useful forum site I know of, and I hope us n00bie mods can carry on that work.
If everyone stayed within the rules, our job would be easy, but we have rules to observe too, and that is going to make us unpopular with some individuals some of the time.
It's OK, it's part of the job as far as I'm concered, I know I'm helping a forum that has been a great place to hang out over the years, and I know the other mods, mini or otherwise, feel the same.
Thanks for all your comments, helpful or otherwise, it shows what this place means to us.

Shake was pretty much the standard compositing tool for big budget movies when Apple discontinued it. So, a lot of people were using it, funnily, a lot of people still using it, despite being discontinued, it's still a solid product.
I still use Shake and have had no issues.... :D

how do you get the weather, date, etc like that? i also see you upload/download speeds at the top, etc? can you point me in the right direction?
Weather : I'm not showing it. Not sure what you mean.
Date : Standard time clock
Toolbar stats : iStats Menus (http://bjango.com/apps/istatmenus/). IMO a must-have.

Is this code correct
@implementation Vehicle +(id) vehicleWithColor:(NSColor*)color {
id newInstance = [[[self class] alloc] init]; // PERFECT, the class is // dynamically identified
[newInstance setColor:color]; return [newInstance autorelease];
} @end
Why use [self class]
I thought self already points to the class on static methods (the ones with +)

Am I going to have .mac, .me and .icloud email addresses now?
Hehe.. maybe?
I stuck with the dotmac addresses when the service became MobileMe, but I think I can use both.
My MobileME renews in a few weeks. I hope I don't get nailed twice, once for the renewal and again for the upgrade.

Im sorry, but wasn't tabbed browsing covered when Steve debuted Leaopard? and I saw the improved find feature in Safari 3 like almost 2 months ago... the only "new" feature that I see is the resizeable text fields....
I love safari and everything, but this isn't news.... why is everyone making such a big deal over this??
It's like as if I said, "Hey everyone! check this out! Tiger has an awesome NEW feature called WIDGETS!"
